The aim of this book is to change the image you have of our prehistoric ancestors. I attempt to show you how shamanic concepts from 20-40,000 years ago filtered into early civilisations. I discuss stylistic similarities in prehistoric art hinting at human migrations and cultural exchanges reaching from the Easter Islands, Indonesia and Anatolia to the Mediterranean. I try to demonstrate shamanic cultural currents within this art that allow us to interpret the art in Chauvet Cave, France, which was created some 36,000 years ago at a time when the culture and people of Europe changed from a Neanderthal culture and appearance to what is widely recognised as the arrival of 'modern' people in Europe. It is my first book and possibly a difficult read in places. But many of the discussions are unique, and I believe, point the way to how we will view ice age culture in the future.
